Some gloomy stats in here (from Digiday) for some of our publishing clients… While we’re bullish on tablets, it’s clear that business models, technology platforms and new players in the value chain (apple) are clashing. Apple profits soar while media companies struggle to generate revenues. Here’s some more on Wired’s sales drop from Business Insider back in October.
Apple’s attitude and efforts need to be friendlier to content creators or the creators will find other routes to market or will stop creating content. If the walled garden isn’t fertile, why plant seeds? They certainly don’t need apple’s help to give away their content.
